Plum jam | A House of Lemons

We have recently recieved a lot of plums from my fiance's parents backyard. I love plums, but I wasn't going to eat 3 kg of them, so we decided to make a jam.

Here's a very easy recipe to use those plums you have and to make a delicious jam to go with your morning porridge.

Servings: about 3 liters of jam Preparation: 1 hour Cooking: 30 min

Ingredients:

3 kg plums

1/3 cup lemon juice

3 cups water*

1/3 cup dark rum

1 kg jam sugar

*This jam is rather runny, because we prefer it that way, but if you like more firm consistency, just add 1 cup of water instead of 3.

Instructions:

  1. Pit the plums. Put them in a large pot.

  2. Add all the other ingredients in the pot.

  3. Boil for 30 min. Remove the foam from the surface once in a while (mainly in the beginning).

  4. Let it cool a bit, divide it to jars. Store in a fridge.
