Welcome to the House of Lemons!

A House of Lemons

Lemons. Lemons. Lemons. Lemons make me happy. The sour taste and their fresh scent wakes me up every morning. The yellow colour brightens up my mood. I love how people go from an instant frown to a smile when they bite on a juicy slice. Did I mention they're yellow?

I hope this blog will inspire you to forget what's bothering you, grab a spatula and fry something delicious. I don't want you to follow my recipes, I want you to get inspired by them and choose the ingredients and methods that work for you, blend two recipes together, add a pinch of your own imagination, forget the measurements, trust your taste buds.

I grew up not being let inside the kitchen. Not because I was a clumsy kid, but because my dad had an affair going on with his kitchen and didn't want anyone to interfere. I always admired his passion for food, cooking, and experimenting. When I moved out, I was quite clueless how to cook a proper meal. However, there was no other way for me but to learn. And with the help of my fiancé I did learn. Now cooking and baking is this beautiful yellow lemony happy place where I forget my problems.

In April 2016, right after my birthday, I've decided that I've had enough and turned vegan. Well almost. I have to be fair, from time to time I still eat some fish and dairy. However, most of the recipes on the blog are going to be vegan.

I hope you will enjoy experiencing our lemony journey through life with stir fries, curries, bakes, colours and lemons together with us.

So go get some lemons, pile them up in a basket and put it on a table so your guests would see, because someone once told me that a basket of lemons on a table gives one some extra image points ;)
