Steamed salmon in rice paper
This recipe is inspired by Alex (@frenchguycooking). I can't believe I haven't seen or tried this before! It's ridiculously easy, looks rather fancy and tastes amazing! Give it a go!
Servings: 4 Preparation: 10 min Cooking: 10-15 min
Ingredients:
4 pieces of salmon
black pepper to taste
salt to taste
12 sheets of rice paper
3 cloves garlic
1 small carrot
1 kale leaf
handful of bean sprouts
chives
2 small tomatoes
juice of half a lemon
Hoisin sauce
Instructions:
Season the salmon pieces with black pepper and salt.
Chop the garlic, kale and chives. Cut the tomatoes and spiralize or thinly cut the carrot.
Dampen a kitchen towel. Place one sheet of rice paper in between the kitchen towel and tap it gently. Repeat with 2 more sheets. Then place the rice paper sheets in a flower shape (pic 1).
Place one piece of the fish, some garlic, carrot, kale, bean sprouts, tomatoes and chives on the rice paper and drizzle some lemon juice and Hoisin sauce (pic 2). Wrap it all up tightly (pic 3). Repeat with other 3 pieces and then steam it for 10-15 min depending on the size of your fish pieces (pic 4). The rice paper might stick to your steamer, so you can just cut some pieces of baking paper and place them right under your wrappers.
Serve it with some salad and rice or potatoes.
